Vernita Pearl Fort

Research Scholar, Former US Diplomat

Vernita Pearl Fort is an Evolutionary Systems Ecologist and Political Economist who worked as a US diplomat for 25 years, researching, designing, and implementing programs with annual budgets of up to two billion US dollars. She has worked in 60 countries, across Africa, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia, Europe, and North America. 


She now serves as a Board Director at the Center for United Nations Constitutional Research, based in Brussels, Belgium, and as a Democracy and Human Rights Research Scholar at the University of Illinois Global Institute, Urbana-Champaign. She serves with the International Working Group for the United Nations Permanent Forum on People of African Descent. The working title of her research and manuscript in nearing completion for publication is:
